[3.7.1] New Feature; Supports light sensor of TOUCHDOWN.
Displays correct icons for TOUCHDOWN hardware buttons on the pop-up
menu in the button item's dialog box.
[3.7.1] New Feature; Displays color index
number on all color pop-up menus, making it easier to set the same
color across multiple panel items.
[3.7.1] Bug Fixed; Live Edit mode of Set/Fade
cue now works properly (was broken in 3.7).
[3.7.1] Bug Fixed; The sample items in panel
item dialog boxes could sometimes be placed incorrectly or disappear
altogether.
[3.7.1] Bug Fixed; Sometimes failed to
download Lamp and Level device drivers for devices on other computer
port than the first one.
[3.7.1] Bug Fixed; Sounds in buttons attached
to the panel itself didn't play.
[3.7] New Feature; Supports TOUCHDOWN both
for use as a TRAX "brain" (ie, replacing the Macintosh
computer for running a TRAX system) and as a panel device. For more
details, choose "TOUCHDOWN with TRAX" in the Device window
and click the Info button.
[3.7] New Feature; Supports MP3 audio files,
which is the standard audio file format used by TOUCHDOWN.
[3.7] New Feature; Now allows the use of
fractions in the Scale factor of the Set/Fade cue as well as when
using an expression to provide the scale factor.
[3.7] Bug Fixed; Setting the output level of a
video disc device from its status window or from a panel item
attached to the level property didn't work.
[3.7] Bug Fixed; Level cues placed in the task
list and using fractional values could sometimes cause incorrect
intermediate values.
[3.7] Bug Fixed; TRAX crashed soon after
re-starting TRAX when running throuigh a Keyspan SX PCI serial port
card after Quitting TRAX after running a show that used devices
providing continuous input.
[3.7] Bug Fixed; When editing serial drivers,
could corrupt drivers containing exactly 256 states, or a multiple
thereof.
[3.6.3] New Feature; Getting the type of a
virtual device through scripting now returns "Virtual".
Likewise, if the device type is not yet specified, it returns
"Unspecified".
[3.6.3] Bug Fixed; Use of the redundant but
permitted word "the" in some cases in serial/network
scripting commands could cause the command to fail.
[3.6.3] Bug Fixed; The default name of devices
created while more than one computer port was active contained a ':'
character, which later caused problems in expressions unless changed
manually. This has been changed into a '_' character to avoid this
situation.
[3.6.2] New Feature; TRAX can now handle up to
four computer serial ports for system bus communication (vs. two in
earlier versions). This essentially doubles the maximum number of
physical devices that can be accommodated by one TRAX system, and
makes it easier to deal with very large installations (eg, in
planetariums).
[3.6.2] New Feature; The computer ports used
for system bus communication are now designated as P1, P2, P3 and P4
(instead of the old "M" and "P" prefixes). You
determine the connection between these port names and the physical
serial ports available on your computer using a new set of pop-up
menus in the Preferences dialog box.
[3.6.2] New Feature; TRAX can now use many
third-party serial port adaptors and cards, including USB-to-Serial
adaptors and PCI Serial cards. We're currently conducting tests to
determine compatibility and suitability of various products. Please
consult the DATATON TRAX product page on www.dataton.com or email
[email protected] for a list of recommended products.
[3.6.2] New Feature; You can now specify which
serial port to use as the serial scripting port. A serial scripting
port can be used even if you use four serial ports for system bus
communication.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; When jumping to a control
cue using a function key or control key combination, and the target
control cue was set to Pause, the Pause command was sometimes
ignored.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; When using large numbers of
devices, cues and panel items could sometimes loose their connection
to specific, individual devices. Adding or removing some devices
could make the problem move to another device.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; Jumping to a named control
cue using a control cue located on another timeline or in the task
list found the wrong target control cue if there were more than one
with the same name on the timeline.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; Adding modes to a Serial
device driver, with a device in the Device window using that driver,
could sometimes cause a crash and/or corruption of the driver file.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; Applying the Lock command
to panel items could cause their size/location to change.
[3.6.2] Bug Fixed; Automatic address
assignment to SMARTPAX QX ports sometimes behaved incorrectly.
[3.6.1] New Feature; A cue can now be copied
from the Action column of the Task list.
[3.6.1] New Feature; Choosing Specifications
(or pressing Command-I) when a Task is selected opens its Action
item (timeline or cue).
[3.6.1] New Feature; The status window of Tape
devices now also shows the output level (audio or video, as
specified by the driver).
[3.6.1] New Feature; More intuitive grouping
of the cues on the Cue menu.
[3.6.1] New Feature; SMARTPAX QC is now the
default control unit - not SMARTPAX.
[3.6.1] New Feature; TRAX now suggest
switching to Interactive mode when appropriate, and offers to do it
for you without going through the Preferences dialog box.

SMARTPAX Related
[3.7.1] Bug fixed; "Dataton WATCHOUT" driver now
works properly.
[3.7.1] Bug fixed; Dataton POWERLINK/KEYLINK
driver no longer affects the reliability of timecode or DMX drivers
in the same SMARTPAX.
[3.7] New VideoDisc device drivers for Pioneer
DVD-V7400 (NTSC only).
[3.7] Bug Fixed; A problem that sometimes
caused POWERLINK and KEYLINK devices to misbehave, or adversely
affected other devices controlled by the same SMARTPAX.
[3.6.3] New VideoDisc device drivers for
Pioneer DVD-V7300 PAL and NTSC. This device model appears to provide
significantly better search performance and reliability than its
predecessor (the 7200).
[3.6.3] Increased reliability of all video and
audio player device drivers in the case of erroneous or garbled
responses from the controlled device. This situation could trigger a
Play-Locate-Play cycle in the driver, causing interruptions to the
playback. A filter has been applied to the data returned from the
device to avoid this problem.
[3.6.3] Bug Fixed; Pioneer DVD and laser disc
device drivers didn't handshake properly with the device, which
could cause unexpected delays in carrying out lengthy commands, such
as a Locate.

Pioneer DVD-V7200.
[3.6.1] New Audio Disc device drivers for
Fostex D-90 and D-108.

9200 and BarcoReality 9200.
[3.6.1] New Serial device drivers for Davis
DL450 and DLX650.
[3.6.1] The Panasonic AG-7XXX and Philips
ISP-3002 device drivers have been removed from TRAX. These drivers
are now included as separate driver files located in the "More
SMARTPAX Device Drivers" folder.
[3.6.1] Bug fixed; A bug was fixed in the
KEYLINK and POWERLINK drivers that could cause the driver to not
provide power to the smartlink.
