SANYO Introduces 15-Inch XGA Resolution
Digital LCD Monitor for Computers

Features Digital PC Connection and Various Video Inputs for Versatile and Easy Viewing of Web Pages, Word Processing Documents, and DVDs

LAS VEGAS, November 13, 2000, COMDEX, Booth #L5946 - SANYO, a leader in multimedia hardware for the PC and presentation markets, today introduced a 15-inch LCD flat panel display designed to deliver new levels of performance for general-purpose office viewing.

Competitively priced at $2499 (MSRP), the C-15LP1A offers high resolution, up to 1024 x 768, in a slim profile, just 16.6 inches wide by 14.2 inches high by 6.4 inches deep (including the base), which saves valuable workspace. The unit weighs a mere 14.1 lbs.

Clear, bright screen images are the outcome of a high brightness level of 250 cd/m2 and a high contrast ratio of 300:1. The screen is viewable over a wide angle of 160 degrees left to right and 160 degrees top to bottom. In addition, the newly-developed backlight system ensures a long average working lifetime of 50,000 hours.

"SANYO is a leader in LCD technology, and we wanted to continue to lead the industry by providing the market with the ultimate in image quality and compatibility," said Rob Pearlman, marketing manager for Sanyo Computer Peripherals Division. "We believe that we have done that with the C-15LP1A, which gives users the means to view information in the clearest way possible in a large PC-screen environment, while offering the connectivity options of composite, component, and S-Video inputs without intruding on desk space."

The C-15LP1A includes a Digital Visual Interface (DVI) for superior image quality. The digital signal from the computer is transmitted directly to the display with minor degradation or interference. In addition complicated setup adjustments are eliminated. This monitor is the perfect match for high-performance DVI-compliant Windows and Macintosh computers.

The Universal Serial Bus Hub (USB Hub) offers convenient connections for peripherals such as a video camera, a printer, a scanner, or a digital camera. It is possible to connect such devices directly into the back of the display, thereby saving space and helping to reduce the usual tangle of wires near the computer.

Additional features include video, s-video and component (Y, Cb, Cr) inputs for a myriad of video source compatibility. For flexibility, the unit can be set up as a regular desktop monitor using the adjustable stand, which can also be removed for wall mounting when using a compatible after-market bracket.

Other key features include a slim card-type remote control for all functions, stereo speakers on each side, stereo headphone jack, an off-timer, power-saving high/low back-light switch and plug-and-play compatibility with VESA DDC2B-compliant computers.
