SANYO Complements Line of Large Venue LCD Projectors
with Two Units Deemed Brightest In Their Respective Class

PLC-XF12N & PLC-EF12N Offer Unparalleled Versatility & Flexibility

LAS VEGAS, November 13, 2000, COMDEX, Booth #L5946 -Sanyo Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies Division, whose parent company is one of the world's largest manufacturer of LCD projectors, today announced the PLC-XF12N and PLC-EF12N, two large venue digital multimedia LCD projectors that offer the brightest output in their respective class.

Both units utilize a 440-watt DC metal halide lamp, three 1.8-inch polysilicon TFT LCD panels and offer greater than 85 percent uniformity. The PLC-XF12N offers an impressive 3300 ANSI lumens, XGA (1024 x 768) native resolution and a contrast ratio of 500:1.The PLC-EF12N boasts 3600 ANSI lumens, an SXGA native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and an incredible 600:1 contrast ratio.

Also, the $15,995 (MSRP) PLC-XF12N and $23,995 (MSRP) PLC-EF12N can be twin stacked, resulting in a near doubling of the image brightness. The units feature a power lens shift function, which easily aligns the images when twin stacking with virtually no geometric distortion. In addition, Sanyo's Polarized Beam Splitter (PBS) Optical System further enhances the brightness levels of both the PLC-XF12N and PLC-EF12N.

"Sanyo has long been a technology leader in the projector market," noted Robert Pearlman, marketing manager, Sanyo Computer Peripheral Products. "Sanyo was the first to use a direct digital PC interface with large venue projectors and now we continue the tradition of features and flexibility with extensive digital technology and the ability to twin stack units for the ultimate in image brightness."

Sanyo's large venue projectors are equipped with a variety of advanced digital features, including:

Digital PC Interface: Based on PanelLink™ technology, the digital PC interface features a graphics accelerator (PCI) board that easily installs into a computer and results in true plug and play compatibility. The PC interface eliminates noise, ghosting, and complicated setup adjustments.
Digital Signal Processing: Featuring pure digital processing circuits, including digital gamma correction, digital progressive scanning, and automatic color correction, the PLC-XF12N and PLC-EF12N reproduce vibrant images with accurate color and precise details.
Digital Progressive Scanning: Sanyo's ASIC Progressive Scan circuit incorporates a proprietary algorithm to double the vertical resolution of the picture, resulting in near high definition image quality from a standard signal.
Digital Realized Interpolation Technology (DRIT): Sanyo's revolutionary and proprietary technology, which digitally reconstructs an image by either compressing or expanding it to make it compatible with the native resolution of the projector.

Unlike other projectors in their class, the PLC-XF12N and PLC-EF12N add the utmost in presentation versatility with a myriad of video and PC inputs, including USB as well as component inputs (Y, Cb, Cr). In addition, seven optional lenses, including short and long-range, are available, offering users complete flexibility for tailor-made installation solutions.

Also, both units are plug and play ready and feature digital zoom and panning, power zoom and focus, user-friendly on-screen menus, and a laser pointer remote control.

Each projector is backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty as well as a 90-day warranty on the lamp and is available through Sanyo's national network of professional audiovisual dealers.
