SANYO
EXPANDS OFFERING WITH NEW WIDE XGA PORTABLE MULTIMEDIA
LCD PROJECTOR
16:9
Format, Wide XGA Resolution & Proprietary Technology
Uniquely Positions PLV-60HT for Home Theater
Applications
LAS VEGAS, June 13, 2001, INFOCOMM, Booth #17054
— SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies
Division, whose parent company is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, introduces the
PLV-60HT, a new Wide XGA portable multimedia LCD
projector. Combining a 16:9 aspect ratio 1366 x 768
resolution panel and a bright output with a multitude of
video, data and audio connection options and
compatibility, the PLV-60HT supports a variety of
presentation environments from home theaters to large
conference rooms.
Boasting a Wide XGA
native resolution of 1366 x 768, greater than 90 percent
uniformity, and a contrast ratio of 700:1, the PLV-60HT
projects detailed images in a 16:9 aspect ratio up to
400 inches diagonally. Offered at $8,995 (MSRP), the
PLV-60HT incorporates three 1.35-inch TFT panels and a
250-watt NSH lamp to produce an impressive 1200 ANSI
lumens, ensuring the utmost in image brilliance and
quality.
The PLV-60HT comes
equipped with a host of connection options including
component video, data, and audio as well as a newly
developed Digital RGB Matrix IC that allows the
connection of DVD players (Y/Cb/Cr) and HDTV signal
sources (Y/Pb/Pr) on a single input.
Because the projector can
display HDTV and wide screen DVD sources with the proper
aspect ratio, the PLV-60HT is ideal for home theater
applications. Adding to its home theater benefits, the
PLV-60HT also employs a new Whisper Quiet fan, which
produces an amazingly low noise level of only 37 dB,
allowing users to enjoy their viewing experience with
minimal background noise.
"The PLV-60HT adds
another dimension to our broad line of LCD
projectors," noted Mark Holt, senior sales manager,
SANYO Presentation Technologies. "Because of its
true 16:9 aspect ratio, enthusiasts can affordably add
this unit to their home theater system and enjoy the
benefits of its advanced technology and
performance."
SANYO's PLV-60HT is
equipped with a variety of advanced digital features,
including:
• Digital Keystone
Correction: With a touch of a button, users can take
advantage of SANYO's digital keystone correction
feature, which compensates for angled projector
placement, correcting trapezoidal images.
• Digital Signal
Processing: Featuring pure digital processing
circuits, including digital gamma correction, digital
progressive scanning, and automatic color correction,
the PLV-60HT reproduces vibrant images with accurate
color and precise details.
• HD Digital
Progressive Scanning: SANYO's ASIC Progressive Scan
circuit incorporates a proprietary algorithm to double
both the vertical and the diagonal resolution of the
picture, resulting in near high definition image quality
from a standard signal.
• Digital Realized
Interpolation Technology (DRIT): SANYO's
revolutionary and proprietary technology, which
digitally reconstructs an image by either compressing or
expanding it to make it compatible with the native
resolution of the projector.
• 3D Digital Noise
Reduction: Brightness noise and color noise are
treated separately through 3D Digital Noise Reduction to
enhance image quality. Signal interference is reduced
and image quality is further enhanced through 3D Digital
Y/C Separation, which separates the luminance and
chrominance signals.
The PLV-60HT also
features a power lens shift, which allows for greater
placement flexibility by raising or lowering the image
without physically moving the projector, digital zoom
and panning, power zoom and focus, user-friendly
on-screen menus, and a laser pointer remote control. In
addition, optional wide and long zoom lenses are
available, offering users complete presentation
flexibility.
The PLV-60HT is backed by
a three-year parts and labor warranty as well as a
90-day warranty on the lamp, and is available through
SANYO's national network of professional audiovisual
dealers.
