SANYO
INTRODUCES NEWEST MICRO-MOBILE PROJECTOR
A
Footprint Smaller Than a Sheet of Letter Size Paper
& Weighing Just 5.7 Pounds,
PLC-XW15 Packs a Punch in Its Class
LAS VEGAS, April 23, 2001, NAB, Booth #M8354 —
SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies
Division, whose parent company is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, introduces the
new micro-mobile PLC-XW15 LCD projector. With a
footprint comparable to a letter-size sheet of paper and
weighing a mere 5.7 pounds, the PLC-XW15
uncompromisingly couples quality performance with
sophisticated features for any on-the-go application.
Ideal for a variety of
environments from schools and training courses to
product demonstrations and corporate presentations, the
$5,995 (MSRP) PLC-XW15 uses a powerful 132-watt UHP lamp
to produce a notable 800 ANSI lumens of brightness while
offering XGA 1024 x 768 resolution to project detailed
images from 34 to 200 inches diagonally. In addition,
thanks to a PixelworksÔ image processing chip as well
as SANYO's unique adjustment circuitry and digital
realized video scaling, the PLC-XW15 boasts exceptional
video performance.
Furthermore, the new unit
features SANYO's digital keystone correction feature,
which automatically compensates for angled projector
placement, correcting trapezoidal images directly on the
screen as well as a new whisper quiet fan which produces
an amazingly low fan noise level of just 39 dB. The
PLC-XW15 also comes with component video inputs and a
newly developed digital RGB matrix IC, making possible
the projection of DVD (Y/Cb/Cr) and HDTV (Y/Pb/Pr).
"SANYO's PLC-XW15
LCD projector offers a size, weight and price tag that
makes it a practical solution for a variety of
presentation needs," said Mark Holt, senior sales
manager, SANYO Computer Peripheral Products. "In
the office or on the road, mobile professionals will
deliver extraordinary presentations with the
PLC-XW15."
The PLC-XW15 uses SANYO's
revolutionary and proprietary Digital Realized
Interpolation Technology (DRIT), which digitally
reconstructs an image by either compressing or expanding
it to make it compatible with the resolution of the
projector. The result is crystal-clear, incredibly
bright images not typically found in today's projectors.
In addition, SANYO's proprietary Automatic Uniformity
Correction Controller ensures a uniform projection,
improving uneven color and brightness of images corner
to corner.
Moreover, the PLC-XW15
offers a one-button auto imaging feature, allowing
seamless setup; an image pause function, enabling users
to remove an image from the screen while retaining their
place within a presentation; a wireless remote with
mouse pad; HDTV compatibility, accepting the 1080i,
1035i, 720p, 575p, 575i, 480p and 480i resolution
standards; and international compatibility, supporting
six color systems including PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, SECAM,
NTSC and NTSC4.43.
The projector is backed
by a three-year part and labor warranty as well as a
90-day warranty on the lamp and is available through
Sanyo's national network of professional audiovisual
dealers.
