SANYO
LAUNCHES NOTEWORTHY
TRIO OF PORTABLE LCD PROJECTORS
New
PLC-XU35, PLC-XU30 & PLC-SU30 In a League of Their
Own
LAS VEGAS, June 13, 2001, INFOCOMM, Booth #17054 —
SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies
Division, whose parent company is one of the world's
largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, has expanded
its line of high-quality portable projectors with the
PLC-XU35, PLC-XU30 and PLC-SU30. These multimedia units
uniquely combine advanced digital features with
extraordinary brightness while addressing today's
presenters' needs.
Sleekly designed in a
lightweight, durable magnesium alloy cabinet, each of
the new portable projectors provide a complete
feature-set, including advanced digital technology and
compatibility as well as impressive brightness and
contrast in sub-nine pound packages, making them perfect
for sharing among conference rooms or for use on the
road. Regardless of the environment, users can be
confident their presentations will be heard thanks to a
fan control system, which constantly monitors the room
temperature around the projector. The fan speed is
adjusted accordingly, eliminating noisy bursts of fan
activity and reducing noise level to a minimum.
Weighing in at just 8.6
pounds, the PLC-XU35 and PCL-XU30 incorporate SANYO's
proprietary light engine and micro lens array along with
a 200-watt UHP lamp to produce an impressive 2000 and
1400 ANSI lumens, respectively. The units also feature
an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 and a solid contrast
ratio of 350:1 and can project detailed images from 31
to 300 inches diagonally. The PLC-XU35 retails for
$5,995 (MSRP) while the PLC-XU30 is priced at $4,995 (MSRP).
Featuring the same
technology of its siblings, the 8.6-pound PLC-SU30 touts
a 200-watt UHP lamp, 1600 ANSI lumens, SVGA resolution,
and a 350:1 contrast ratio to clearly display images up
to 300 inches diagonally. The new unit is offered at
$4,995 (MSRP). "Whether you're a first-time user or
a company needing to outfit a sales team with individual
projectors, SANYO has answered the call for portable
presentation solutions with a trio of highly portable,
economically priced units," said Mark Holt, senior
sales manager, SANYO Presentation Technologies.
"These units are suited for both the
performance-minded and the budget-conscious while
offering the benefit of great portability."
SANYO's newest portable
projectors are equipped with a variety of advanced
digital features, including:
• Digital Keystone
Correction: With a touch of a button, users can take
advantage of SANYO's digital keystone correction
feature, which automatically compensates for angled
projector placement, correcting trapezoidal images
directly on the screen.
• Digital
Progressive Scanning: SANYO's ASIC Progressive Scan
circuit incorporates an original company algorithm to
double the vertical resolution of the picture, resulting
in near high definition image quality from a standard
signal.
• Digital Signal
Processing: Featuring pure digital processing
circuits, including digital gamma correction, digital
progressive scanning, and automatic color correction,
SANYO projectors reproduce vibrant images with accurate
color and precise details.
• Digital Realized
Interpolation Technology (DRIT): SANYO's
revolutionary and proprietary technology, which
digitally reconstructs an image by either compressing or
expanding it to make it compatible with the resolution
of the projector.
Each of the new
projectors can accept an optional detachable
presentation viewer, which simply snaps into a port on
the back of the projector, allowing users to easily
access and view data stored on a PC card.
Each projector is backed
by a three-year part and labor warranty as well as a
90-day warranty on the lamp and is available through
Sanyo's national network of professional audiovisual
dealers.
