SANYO TIPS SCALE WITH TWO NEW FIXED INSTALLATION LCD PROJECTORS IDEAL FOR SOPHISTICATED LARGE VENUE ENVIRONMENTS

PLC-EF30 & PLC-XF30 Offer Powerhouse Performance

LAS VEGAS, June 13, 2001, INFOCOMM, Booth #17054 — SANYO Fisher Company's Presentation Technologies Division, whose parent company is one of the world's largest manufacturers of LCD projectors, has expanded its fixed installation projector line with the PLC-EF30 and PLC-XF30. These two large venue digital multimedia LCD projectors are sophisticated powerhouse presentation machines ideally suited for high-end, high-capacity environments from auditoriums to places of worship.

Both units utilize two 200-watt UHP lamps, three 1.8-inch polysilicon TFT LCD panels and offer greater than 85 percent uniformity. The PLC-EF30 touts 5800 ANSI lumens, an SXGA native resolution of 1280 x 1024 and an incredible 600:1 contrast ratio. The PLC-XF30 offers an impressive 5200 ANSI lumens, XGA (1024 x 768) native resolution, and a notable contrast ratio of 700:1.

Also, the $23,995 (MSRP) PLC-EF30 and $19,995 (MSRP) PLC-XF30 can be twin stacked, resulting in a near doubling of the image brightness. The units feature a power lens shift function, which easily aligns the images when twin stacking with virtually no geometric distortion.

"SANYO has led the way in the fixed installation projector market for years," noted Mark Holt, senior sales manager, Sanyo Presentation Technologies. "The introduction of these remarkably bright and feature rich large venue projectors simply adds to its impressive track record of providing high-performance LCD projector solutions."

SANYO's large venue projectors are equipped with a variety of advanced digital features, including:

Digital Visual Interface (DVI): Offering a direct digital connection between the projector and a PC, the DVI can take the digital data directly from a computer source and display it pixel-for-pixel. PanelLink™ technology provides the high-speed digital connection between the graphics adapter and the projector, resulting in noise-free images and allowing for longer cable runs.

Digital Signal Processing: Featuring pure digital processing circuits, including digital gamma correction, digital progressive scanning, and automatic color correction, the PLC-EF30 and PLC-XF30 reproduce vibrant images with accurate color and precise details.

HD Digital Progressive Scanning: SANYO's ASIC Progressive Scan circuit incorporates a proprietary algorithm to double both the vertical and diagonal resolution of the picture, resulting in near high definition image quality from a standard signal.

Digital Realized Interpolation Technology (DRIT): SANYO's revolutionary and proprietary technology, which digitally reconstructs an image by either compressing or expanding it to make it compatible with the native resolution of the projector.

Unlike other projectors in their classes, the PLC-EF30 and PLC-XF30 add the utmost in presentation versatility with a myriad of video and PC inputs, including USB as well as component inputs supporting HDTV compatibility. In addition, eight optional lenses, including short and long-range, are available, offering users complete flexibility for tailor-made installation solutions.

Also, both units are plug and play ready and feature digital zoom and panning, power zoom and focus, user-friendly on-screen menus, and a laser pointer remote control.

The PLC-EF30 and PLC-XF30 are backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty as well as a 90-day warranty on the lamp and will be available in October and August 2001, respectively, through SANYO's national network of professional audiovisual dealers.
